Do you use a manual toothbrush or an electric toothbrush?

Research shows that an electric toothbrush removes more plaque and stimulates the gums more than a manual toothbrush when used correctly. Brushing with an electric toothbrush for the full two minutes decreases gingival inflammation and helps prevent cavities.

Periodontal disease attacks the supportive bone which anchors the teeth in the mouth. Over time this plaque hardens into tartar, which along with the bacteria causes inflammation in the gums, and can cause the anchoring bone to dissolve away. The progression of periodontal disease is the number one cause of tooth loss. The best way to avoid this is regular daily brushing and flossing, along with regular professional dental cleanings.
